Open Process Handbook Initiative
The Open Process Handbook Initiative (OPHI) is a group of organizations and individuals dedicated to developing an on-line collection of knowledge about business processes that is freely available to the general public under a form of "open source" licensing.
The starting point for the initiative is the
an on-line collection of knowledge about common business processes and innovative examples of how they can be done. The Process Handbook has been developed over the past 15 years by researchers at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and has been commercialized by an MIT spin-off company called Phios Corporation under an exclusive license from MIT. The Process Handbook already includes entries for over 5000 business activities, together with an extensive set of software tools for viewing and modifying the knowledge base.
In order to promote more widespread use of this resource, Phios has now agreed to make the Process Handbook avaliable under an open source license. To use or download any of the public versions of the Process Handbook, please go to:
